Jen grew up in Northern Ireland in the 1980s during ‘The Troubles’. This experience in her early years instilled a compassion for those who find themselves on a different path through no reason other than the circumstances that they find themself in, on their journey in this life. Through these experiences Jen has gained resilience, grace, knowledge and perseverance, all being welcome blessings from God.
After arriving in Canada in 2019, Jen started volunteering with Lifeline on Sundays and throughout the week in 2022. Her heart for those in need in the Lower Mainland has grown, as has the need for the work that Lifeline does, as pressures increase on society. Jen believes that the need in the Lower Mainland is greater than just the sustenance brought through food and provisions. Contact with a caring soul who brings a cheery greeting and a smile alongside the provision of food and groceries brings the opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ to those who are struggling in society. Jen’s vision for growing Jesus’ kingdom through the ministry of the Blue Bus and Lifeline ministries is beautifully aligned.
Jen joined the board of Lifeline Ministries in 2024 and finds that her children regularly join her “on the bus”
