Outreach

Since February 1988, Lifeline has been reaching out to those who are struggling across the Lower Mainland, offering hot meals, groceries, clothing, and genuine friendship. The number of men, women, and children we serve has varied over the years depending on location and need, but one thing has remained constant: the deep appreciation expressed by those who receive this support. Many have told us, “This helps us make it to our next pay cheque.”

Not everyone who comes to the line is on welfare or battling addiction. Many are working, yet their income simply doesn’t cover basic necessities like rent, hydro, and gas. Some must sacrifice food just to keep up with bills. When they discover Lifeline’s services, it gives them hope and helps them bridge the gap to their next paycheque.

We also hear how much people value coming to the “Blue Bus.” It’s more than a place to receive supplies—it’s a place to find fellowship. Here, they are welcomed, cared for, and treated with dignity. For many, this is one of the few places where they are not judged or dismissed, but met with kindness and respect.

Lifeline extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has served with us since 1988. Whether your involvement has been long‑term or short‑term, you have made a meaningful difference in our communities. We invite you to continue partnering with us—and to bring others along—as we carry on this vital ministry.

By taking our outreach directly into the streets of the downtown core, we offer hope in the midst of difficult circumstances. With an outstretched hand, we support those who need us—whether it’s a hot meal, clothing, groceries, or simply someone to listen and walk with them through a challenging moment.

Lifeline empowers people to improve their lives not only through practical assistance, but by offering encouragement, dignity, and hope.

Our Mission is
“to be a bridge between those that have and
those that have not”
