As the number of “recently homeless” individuals living in poor conditions in the downtown areas of many of our cities continues to grow, we are there to help. There exists a critical need for outreach programs and services offering a beacon of hope and care to those individuals who are drowning in depression, despair and poverty. Lifeline’s Urban Outreach Department specifically focuses on serving the needs of these people who are down on the streets with our Aldergrove Blue Bus and Abbotsford Blue Bus Outreach programs.

Due to the mobile and street-based nature of Lifeline’s Urban program, staff and volunteers interact directly with the disadvantaged in their own environment. This provides a level of familiarity, comfort and credibility with those being served and often leads to relationships based upon trust. This is a key factor in addressing the complex issues behind poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and substance abuse. These relationships that are built open doors for these people in need to enter one of our prevention programs to help them take the final steps to changing their lives.

As a reputable and benevolent organization, Lifeline Outreach Society is able to offer individuals hope, despite current circumstances; a hope that is desperately needed in our community.

Philippine Lifeline Outreach Ministry

We are overjoyed to be a part of this much needed outreach in the beautiful country of the Philippines. Thank you to those who have contributed to the work we do there. Together we are making a difference in hundreds of people’s lives.

Here are some of the wonderful ways that the ministry reaches out to those in need in South Cotabato, Philippines.

Outreach Feeding Program

Over 100 hot meals served per month.

With over 100 bags of groceries given out to the indigenous people in many different regions and barrios, food and groceries are handed out to families.

Only one small bag per family, which can range from 2 to 8 people in one shanty. This meager amount of rice, noodle soup and one can of sardines will be shared among the family, where they will make a soup and add vegetables to the broth so as to stretch it out further so all can eat. Everyone is so grateful and needful of just some staples even though it will not last long. Their hearts are also eager to hear of Our Lord and Savior Jesus.

In addition, Lifeline reaches out through the “Ambush Feeding drop by” program to different locations where either a hot meal or a bag of groceries are handed out. Some of the sites include nearby barrios as well as hospitals. In the Philippines, those that are admitted to hospitals require their family to come 24 hours a day to help with their care. The cost of having a family member in the hospital is so great that it quickly depletes the entire family of any money to live off of. On any given day there can be 50 or more people who are at the hospital without food or supplies for their needs.

During the summer holidays, a daily vacation bible school is held where college aged volunteers run the program with up to 60 children attending and accepting the Lord.

School supplies are given to students from kindergarten to high school to help with their school year.

New flipflops are handed out to those who cannot afford them.

Every year Christmas gift bags are given out to about 80 people, in addition to the regular feeding programs.

A weekly bible study where approximately 35 children attend to receive spiritual nourishment as well as a snack. There are fun games and love given by all—a great highlight for the children in their week.

Evangelistic film outreaches are held where more than 100 people attend to hear the gospel, be prayed for, and many receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and are baptized.

A new home for a family of 7 was paid for and built through Lifeline Outreach—as well as an outdoor bathroom for another family.

When donating, please add the message “Designate to the Philippine ministry”.

Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
