Pastor David Poulette has spent his life walking alongside people who are hurting, forgotten, or simply needing someone to believe in them. With a Master’s in Social Work, a BA in Psychology, and credentials as a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC), David brings both professional skill and deep compassion to every person he meets. He is also an Ordained Minister, the Founder of Lifeline Outreach Society, a former CEO of BC Teen Challenge, and is now retired from his role as Clinical Supervisor for Mental Health and Substance Use with Fraser Health.
Since 1988, David has been serving the less fortunate throughout Vancouver’s downtown core and the Lower Mainland. His counselling journey began in 1998 when he opened his private practice. Those who sit with him often describe the same experience—his gentle manner, reflective listening, and genuine empathy create a safe place to breathe, share, and heal.
After completing his BA in Psychology in 2003 and his Master’s in Social Work in 2007, David joined the Surrey Fraser Mental Health and Addiction team. There, he coordinated several programs that helped individuals living with mental illness find stable housing, support, healing and dignity.
David’s decades of working with people who have faced trauma, loss, and hardship have given him a deep understanding of human crisis and the kind of care needed for true restoration. He has witnessed remarkable transformations and believes wholeheartedly that God desires every person to live in freedom and wholeness. Through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing, David has seen changes in people that only God can bring.
Beyond his ministry and professional work, one of David’s greatest sources of joy and strength is his wife Janice and their two daughters and 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Their laughter, energy, and love continually inspire him and remind him of the beauty of family, the importance of legacy, and the hope each new generation carries.
